Software

Free software specifically for the Elecraft K4 series transceiver.

K4 Tuner Trainer

This KAT500 Tuner Trainer software is designed to have the K4 transceiver transmit a signal sufficient to automatically initiate a tune cycle in the Elecraft tuner to find a setting that produces a low SWR for every frequency segment for every band. (See p. 27 of the Elecraft KAT500 Owner’s Manual for details on how this tuning works.)

Note: Some have mentioned that their computers flag this as having a virus, which I think is a false positive.  Windows and some browsers also often automatically flag an executable file (even zipped) as possible malware if it’s downloaded off the internet.  I ran a virus scan on my machine with both BitDefender and Microsoft Defender.  They found NO virus on my computer or in this file.

K4 Settings Reader

The Elecraft K4 series transceiver has a tremendous number of internal settings.  This software is designed to read, save, and compare menu settings between saved versions and those read from the radio. (I’m working on an update that will read all settings, including band dependent settings.)

Differences between saved versions, defaults, and those obtained from the radio are marked in red.

K4 Macro Tester

A simple application to just send macros to the radio and read it’s reply (a simple replacement for Putty).
